Predef 2X
Animal ketosis. Due to its gluconeogenic and glycogen deposition activity, Predef 2X sterile aqueous solution is a useful and effective therapy for the endocrine and metabolic imbalance of primary bovine ketosis. The dairy cow is predisposed to this illness due to the strains of parturition and high milk output. Within 8 to 24 hours after injection, blood glucose levels rebound to normal or above due to the immediate physiological impact of this adrenal steroid. Circulating eosinophils drop, and then blood and urine ketones drop as a result. In most cases, the cow’s general demeanor dramatically improves, her hunger recovers, and her milk output returns to normal within 3 to 5 days. In cases of secondary bovine ketosis when pneumonia complicates the illness, Predef 2X sterile aqueous suspension should be used in conjunction with appropriate local and parenteral antimicrobial therapy, infusion solutions, and other recognized therapies for the underlying disorders in cases of mastitis, endometritis, traumatic gastritis, etc.
Milk Flu
Predef 2X sterile aqueous solution has been proven to be a superb supportive therapy for the management of parturient paresis-related stress. It should be administered intramuscularly before or after the standard calcium infusion solutions used to treat the condition. The infusion solutions must not contain Predef 2X sterile aqueous suspension.
muscle-skeletal disorders
This medication, like other adrenal steroids, has proved effective in reducing pain and lameness in big animals with widespread and acute localized arthritic diseases. Laminitis, rheumatoid and traumatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, periostitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, and myositis have all been effectively treated with Predef 2X sterile aqueous solution. Generalized musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, depressive symptoms, and anorexia brought on by excessive workload, shipping, exceptional physical activity, etc., respond quickly. Depending on the origin and degree of structural degradation, symptoms may go into permanent remission or reoccur.
Immune Reactions
Predef 2X sterile aqueous suspension is particularly useful for treating acute hypersensitivity responses brought on by taking a medicine that sensitizes the body or by being exposed to other allergens. Urticaria and anaphylactoid responses are common symptoms. Atopic and contact dermatitis, summer eczema, and conjunctivitis are examples of less severe allergy symptoms that can be treated. Although in extreme instances with extensive lesions, longer adrenocorticoid therapy and other suitable therapies may be necessary, the response is often swift and complete.
Massive Infections with Extreme Toxicity
Intensive isoflupredone therapy may help correct the circulatory defect in animals rendered sterile by overwhelmingly severe infections for which specific antibacterial therapy is available (such as critical pneumonia, peritonitis, endometritis, or septic mastitis), by reducing the associated inflammatory changes and allowing the antibacterial agent to work to its full potential. As a form of supportive treatment, this steroid reduces stress and enhances the patient’s overall disposition. When feasible, every step required to establish a bacterial diagnosis should be completed before starting treatment. When an infection is present, isoflupredone medication should be given for the minimum amount of time necessary to maintain an effective response, and antibacterial therapy should continue for at least three days after the hormone has been withdrawn.
Combining hormone and antibiotic therapy cannot replace the necessity for necessary surgery. Shock. Predef 2X sterile aqueous solution is recommended for use in cases of adrenal failure, shock-like states, anaphylactoid responses, emergency surgery, and elective surgery in patients with high surgical risk. It is suggested as a supplement to established treatments for shock, such as the use of plasma expanders. Benefits might not become apparent until all such techniques have been used because of connected physiological functions.
ALTERNATIVE INDICATIONS. Other indications for usage include exhaustion following surgery or dystocia, retained placenta, inflammatory ophthalmic disorders, snakebite, and other stress-related diseases. Its use in the treatment of these problems is advised as a supplemental measure to customary practices and time-tested methods. It will calm the animal and speed its full recovery. joint supplements for horses
ADMINISTRATION & DOSAGE
Predef 2X sterile aqueous suspension is injected deeply into the muscle for systemic action or locally into the bursa, tendon sheath, or joint cavity.
Cattle. According on the size of the animal and the severity of the disease, the typical intramuscular dose for cattle is between 10 and 20 mg. If necessary, repeat this dosage in 12 to 24 hours. Studies on ketosis have shown that, even after repetition, relatively large initial doses of corticoids lead to a quicker recovery and a lower likelihood of recurrence than relatively low doses. The way that ketosis responds to isoflupredone medication is similar to how prednisolone works.
Prednisolone is 10 times less glucogenic than isoflupredone. As a result, 100 mg of prednisolone are therapeutically equivalent to 10 mg of isoflupredone acetate. In the event of a subpar outcome or relapse, the diagnosis should be reevaluated in order to look for complications (such as pneumonia, metritis, traumatic gastritis, or mastitis) in the animal. Horses. Horses typically receive 5 to 20 mg intramuscularly, repeated as required. Depending on the size of the cavity to be injected into, the typical intrasynovial dosage for joint inflammation, tendinitis, or bursitis is 5 to 20 mg or more.
Swine. For a 140 kg animal, the standard intramuscular dosage for swine is 5 mg. The dosage is proportionate to the animal’s weight whether the pig is larger or smaller.
